Coping with Coronacoaster
A colleague sent me a list of Lockdown lingo – new terminology that is in place due to our current situation.
A lot of it I can’t share on here! But one that really resonated with me and the Ashley Kate HR & Finance team when we discussed it on our daily Zoom call was
*Coronacoaster*
Definition
The ups and downs of your mood during the pandemic. You’re loving lockdown one minute but suddenly weepy with anxiety the next. It truly is “an emotional coronacoaster”.
I suspect we’re not alone in experiencing ‘Coronacoaster’ so now more than ever we need to be checking up on each other, friends, family and colleagues.
One positive that has come out of the pandemic is the increased level of community and team spirit, and not just in the local community, we are clapping for the NHS on a Thursday night, a great way to acknowledge the phenomenal work they are doing, but also a great way to see our neighbours each week, we’re delivering shopping for our neighbours, checking up on the elderly, talking to friends locally and across the world more, albeit by video.
As individuals in our own way we are all doing something to help people cope with ‘Coronacoaster’
