Ashley Kate Start Year Strong with Community Engagement Initiatives
The first quarter of this year has been brimming with community support and engagement activities here at Ashley Kate. As part of the Nicholas Associates Group of companies, community support is a duty that we take seriously, constantly looking for innovative ways to give back to those in need. These initiatives offer a great chance for our team members to come together, develop meaningful relationships, and support our local community. Through our community engagement, we are aligning with our wider Group’s vision to empower people and enable them to be their best.
In February, the Nicholas Associates Group launched its ’50 for £50’ initiative across the wider Group. The challenge was to walk 50 miles, with everyone in the team committing to it. We divided into two teams and achieved fantastic numbers. Team HR recorded a total of 288 miles throughout February, while Team Finance accomplished a total of 204 miles. With this, we were able to donate £100 worth of groceries to our local food bank, The Long Eaton & Sawley food bank (seeded by The Trussel Trust). Our donation added to the wider Group’s total donation of £800 to food banks across the UK.
After the success of their previous initiative, they came up with a new challenge called ‘March on in March’. This was similar in concept but with a rewarding twist. Each team member had to complete 50 miles individually, and for every 10 miles completed past the 50-mile target, an extra £10 was added to the fundraising pot. In March, Team HR recorded a total of 299 miles, while Team Finance racked up 250 miles between them. This resulted in a donation pot of £290, which was used to support our local food bank once again. As a group, we walked over 4000 miles, contributing to a donation of £2600 to food banks across the UK.
And finally, our annual ‘Be a Good Egg’ Easter Appeal was a great success! Thanks to the kindness of those in our community, we donated lots of Easter treats. This included chocolate eggs, arts & crafts, as well as vital essentials such as sanitary products. Our Easter Appeal campaign is successful year after year because of the generosity shown by our clients and colleagues.
We always appreciate the opportunity to get involved in such opportunities to support our local community and give back to those in need. We’re incredibly fortunate to be in a position where we can help those who might be going through difficult times. We look forward to further community engagement throughout the rest of this year and beyond!
